Founder & CEO

Idea Entity was not established as an overnight sensation by Venu Yerra. The company was built on a rock-solid foundation of technical experience with a touch of imagination by the entrepreneur based on his own knowledge of how technology could be used to drive excellence in business.

Venu was schooled in India—earning his advanced electrical engineering degree from Jawaharial Nehru Technical University—but he received his real education at Microsoft in Redmond, where he spent 7 years. There, he developed technical solutions to support product pricing and release strategy within Microsoft.

“It has been amazing to watch Venu translate IT strategies into tangible ROI for clients from diverse areas of business,” said John Strathy, the CFO at Idea Entity, who joined Venu when he opened the doors to his dream in 2006. “His goal has always been to provide value beyond what is expected. Clients remember our work and follow his roadmap long after we have completed an assigned project.”

His willingness to grant ownership of challenges to his employees is apparent in every corner of the Idea Entity offices in Bellevue, WA. Venu is living proof that bright professionals thrive when trusted with the tools and the freedom to deliver results in creative ways.

John Strathy

CFO

It was his background in construction—not his just aptitude for numbers—that qualified John Strathy to serve as Chief Financial Officer at Idea Entity. Construction lent him an ability to determine risk to leverage returns for maximum benefit.  That ability earned him a position on the leadership team of the small software development company in 2006.

Like many other start-up companies, his title of CFO includes much more than supervision of investments and review of profit-and-loss statements. The University of Washington graduate is responsible for the complete financial operations at Idea Entity, which includes managing business operations and projections.  “John gives everybody at IE the confidence to go about our business because he not only understands the back-office nuances of running a business, but he understands IE from the inside-out,” says Elif Baydar. “He’s been here since the beginning.”
